Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting

+ Kat

Listening: The sound of people moving furniture upstairs, and freaking out that it will happen during the scene I'm shooting today
Watching: The Terminator (I think this is a genuinely awesome movie)
Reading: My short script, over and over again
Wearing: The grottiest clothes ever, but with my long-coveted Keep slip-ons! Perfect directing shoes...
Wanting: A full night's sleep!

(By the way, I did my portion of this entry through my mobile phone! Which is why there is no niftiness from me at the end...)

++ Liz

Listening: Silver Apples, The Plimsouls, Buddy Holly, Free Kitten, Isobel Campbell And Mark Lanegan
Watching: Valley Girl; Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist; Michael Cera on The Michael Showalter Showalter
Reading: the new issue of Vogue (you know, the one with that two-page spread of Mr. Big eating Carrie's face)
Wearing: dark-grey jeans and light-grey rouched-neckline tank top and black-satin ballet flats
Wanting: a house by the sea, but what else is new?

++ Laura

Listening: I listen to Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by the Small Faces over and over again every single day at a really loud volume from the other room so it sounds like normal volume in here, but kind of hushed and murky. When I listen to it any other way, it sounds like the wrong album. On Tuesday I walked around Toronto with The Fiery Furnaces' EP on my headphones and felt sick and got a weird sunburn inside the indentations of my collarbone. On Wednesday it rained and I listened to Everybody Knows This is Nowhere by our Neiler, which proved my point that the worse you feel, the better Neil sounds. Not that this required any proving. I knew it was true all along.
Watching: I watch two consecutive re-runs of Friends at 2 A.M. every night because I am incapable of going to bed before three in the morning; it's becoming problematic. I like when I lapse in watching Friends for four to six months, then watch it again and have my mind totally blown by the comedic genius of David Schwimmer.
Reading: I read A Taxonomy of Barnacles by Galt Niederhoffer, which was total fluff but pretty entertaining and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for an easy-peasy piece of crap to read on a plane or at the gym or something.
Wearing: Right now I am wearing my Beatle boots, a pair of baggy knee-length patchwork shorts, a white long-sleeved t-shirt, and a shrunken green little boys' Polo sweater. It's seriously the most unflattering outfit I've ever seen a person wear.
Wanting: I want all my best friends who are scattered across this great continent to live together on one street in one city. We could all keep our front doors open and run around like children or thieves. There would always be somebody cool around to play Scrabble with, though I can't promise I wouldn't totally beat their sorry selves into the pavement.
