To Go: special screening of The Lost Boys in L.A.
If Point Break is the greatest movie ever made, then The Lost Boys is probably the second greatest. So I'm just thrilled that my obsessive trolling of the L.A. Film Fest's schedule uncovered this sure-to-be-awesome screening happening Tuesday night at Mann Festival Theatre. There's gonna be a sneak peek at the soon-to-be-released sequel (Lost Boys: The Tribe), plus a few unidentified special guests in attendance. I'm guessing those guests won't include my favorite-ever actress Dianne Wiest, and running into Kiefer Sutherland and Alex Winter isn't much of a special occurrence when you live on my side of town. But I must confess: I'd be kinda geeked if Corey Feldman showed up. And I was just going to add a mean little comment about the other Corey, but then I decided to practice some restraint.
I'll most likely report back post-screening with any exciting tidbits and/or fawning observations on Jami Gertz's wardrobe, so for now here's just a little clip from the movie. It's got lots of gross parts, but the first minute's so worth watching for that bit when the camera zooms in on Jami's pretty screaming face. (And god, look at her jacket!) I'd also like to point out that, if I were going to make some montage-y YouTube fan clip about The Lost Boys, I'd definitely use "Bloodletting" by Concrete Blonde as the soundtrack.
