Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Yeasayer, All Hour Cymbals; Mary Timony, Mountains; Public Enemy, Fear of a Black Planet; the Breeders, Mountain Battles, and as always, our Heavy Rotation for the week. This week's particularly fun!
Watching: Lust, Caution; A Scanner Darkly (um, how much do I love Keanu? LOTS);
Reading: Howards End by E.M. Forster; Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis, which I wrote about before and am revisiting. Sometimes summer brings out my inner nihilist.
Wearing: Since my baggage was lost, all I have now are boots and heels. So this has been my Inadvertent Fashion Challenge Week: How I REALLY Learned to Walk in Heels ('Cause Boots Make My Feet Too Hot). I wear my most vertiginous pair and a sort of boho minidress from Forever 21. ('Cause most of my summer clothes are gone as well.) It's kind of hippie vamp. But I still want my sandals and tank tops back.
Wanting: My lost baggage to be returned to me. THANKS A LOT, U.S. AIRWAYS.
+ Liz
Listening: anything off The Big Chill soundtrack that's available for halfway legal download, especially "Tell Him" by The Exciters. (P.S. I'm really grateful that I'm just a few years too young to be wildly disdainful of The Big Chill's boomer nostalgia. It's nice to have the freedom of disliking the movie simply because it's kind of boring, and because it's maybe the one instance in which Jeff Goldblum isn't the hottest guy in the room.)
Watching: Hellboy 2; The Big Chill; and, in anticipation of both Pineapple Express and the first disc of The Hills season 3 (which should arrive in my mailbox momentarily), I'm repeatedly rewatching the James Franco/Mila Kunis Justin Bobby/Audrina parody seen below
Reading: No One Belongs Here More Than You by Miranda July
Wearing: cutoffs + tank tops + glittery slip-on Converse
Wanting: to magically finish all my work before I jet off to Boston Tuesday night!!
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Brigitte Fontaine; The White Album; "Apache" by the Sugarhill Gang
Watching: I saw The Dark Knight and had my mind thoroughly blown. After it was over, I felt all out of sorts, locked myself in a bathroom stall, and cried about Heath Ledger's death. I never really cared up until now, but really: I often struggle with perceiving acting as being a legitimate art form, but that performance was his was 100% artistry. I hate the stupid artistic temperament! It kills way too many geniuses. Also: last night I was watching my customary 2 AM Friends episode while working on a crossword and fantasizing that I was doing the crossword with Fictional Man-o'-my-dreams, then it cut to a scene of Chandler and Monica filling out a crossword together! Mon was on Bing's lap, and I was SO jealous.
Reading: nogoodforme.com; Teen Vogue; I just finished The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak- it was gorgeous and creative, and the ending tear-jerked the Helen Keller outta me.
Wearing: You will all find out on Sunday (!!!); rest assured, it's tres exciting.
Wanting: I want to move to Mexico and sit on a hot beach with a hot babe drinking sangria and eating guacamole for the rest of my life; I'd also take a hot babe without the Mexico, sangria and guac; Batman's sick high-speed motorcycle with the giant wheels; one of those $1.99 Beijing Olympics mascot cups you can get at McDonalds- I tried to get one last night, but the stupid Union Station McDonalds was all out. Not cool, McDonalds, not cool at all. Oh, and did I mention a hot babe?
Hot animated super-emo Keanu at his Scanner Darkly best:
"Like, literally, I don't give a fuck":
OMG THE OLYMPICS MASCOTS ARE SO CUTE!!! I'm especially partial to Nini and Jingjing, though Beibei has the cutest name. Actually, Nini's a pretty sweet name in its own right:

Tags: baby boomers, Beibei, Chandler Bing, having the hots for Jeff Goldblum, Heath Ledger, Jingjing, Miranda July, Nini, Pineapple Express, Sugarhill Gang, The Dark Knight, The Hills

Say something so insightful and witty, it will blow us away. (No pressure.)
Got something to say? We'd love to hear it! Name, email and "type in the weirdo drunken text" thingie are all required to comment; don't worry, we won't email you or anything, we just want to make sure you're not an evil spambot. Keeping in mind the good-times mentality we like to keep going here, we've worked hard to keep NOGOODFORME.COM as fun as possible. We welcome all kinds of comments, but insults/abuse/general bitchery are not tolerated. In other words, we put the smackdown on evil troll posts. If you want to be a hater, please go elsewhere. Now, as Salt 'N Pepa say, "Only the sexy people..."

kat, i think our understanding of keanu reeves's secret genius needs to be honored in some way. he should take us out to dinner or something.
