Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Fennesz, Wu-Tang Clan, Beyonce and of course the Fall
Watching: Mon Oncle; Salo; You've Got Mail, and either Bride Wars, Gran Torino or Doubt tonight. Or maybe Waltz with Bashir. I really want to see that, actually; it looks amazing.
Reading: Barack Obama, Dreams From My Father; Charles Dickens, Our Mutual Friend
Wearing: Black Balenciaga knit shirt, really old Earl straight-leg jeans, Miss Sixty ankle boots, a grey buffalo plaid humongo scarf
Wanting: I want light tan plaid pillow shams.
+ Liz
Listening: the stuff in this week's Heavy Rotation; Led Zeppelin II
Watching: the season 2 premiere of Flight of the Conchords! And you can watch too! It's online now!
Reading: I'm With The Band + Marie Claire which I generally hate but there's a really cute interview with Kevin Connolly who Laura and I saw last Saturday in a bar and now I adore him more than ever
Wearing: PJs
Wanting: big black boots
+ Laura Jane
Listening: How's this for some seriously awesome life-soundtracking- I played the Fiery Furnaces' "Here Comes The Summer" as my plane touched down in Los Angeles nine days ago, then listened to the Fiery Furnaces' "Up In The North" as I alighted in Toronto last night. SO PERTINENT! Other than that, I'm really into Bringing It All Back Home by Bob Dylan right now, and then also the gunshot part of "Paper Planes" by M.I.A.
Watching: I watched The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2 on the way to L.A and The X Files: I Want To Believe on the way back to Toronto. They were both equally awesome.
Reading: Michael Ian Black's blog, as in, NOT Michael Showalter's blog. Michael Showalter's blog sucks. I'm just being honest here- It's a bad blog. Showalter must be dumb or something. I would never, ever, never date him, not in a million, trillion years.
Wearing: My amazing, beautiful new FORTY-DOLLAR Karen Walker t-shirt dress from Creatures of Comfort, which is the actual Happiest Place On Earth, in my opinion; Cory Kennedy's cheetah hoody; Alphabet Bags "F" tote
Wanting: I have thought of a very important Pt. II/amendment to my New Year's Resolution, which is that I want to start making really grand, braggy claims about myself, just like my heroes Q-Tip, M.I.A, and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz. For instance: I am the James Joyce of fashion bloggers, I wait for no man; I do what no man can; dudes love me (for myriad reasons); I'm so conceptual, I make Yoko Ono look like Hilary Duff; I drink so hard, I make Dylan Thomas look like a toddler sipping a baby bottle full of apple juice; etc.
The trailer for Waltz With Bashir:
A clip from the season 2 premiere of Flight of the Conchords:
Below, left: the only thing in the world that makes me remotely envious of Cory Kennedy's "life"; below, right: two things that would make me really envious of myself if I weren't myself- take note of the crazy-long sleeves of my Karen Walker dress! Beautiful! FORTY BONES!

Say something so insightful and witty, it will blow us away. (No pressure.)
Got something to say? We'd love to hear it! Name, email and "type in the weirdo drunken text" thingie are all required to comment; don't worry, we won't email you or anything, we just want to make sure you're not an evil spambot. Keeping in mind the good-times mentality we like to keep going here, we've worked hard to keep NOGOODFORME.COM as fun as possible. We welcome all kinds of comments, but insults/abuse/general bitchery are not tolerated. In other words, we put the smackdown on evil troll posts. If you want to be a hater, please go elsewhere. Now, as Salt 'N Pepa say, "Only the sexy people..."

I heartily recommend WALTZ WITH BASHIR. It's nothing like PERSEPOLIS, despite all the comparisons. (Cuz apparently all media that touch on some kind of war in the "Middle East" are the same.)

I cannot WAIT to see 'waltz with bashir.' i think it's kind of lazy to say they're the same, despite the use of animation and the middle east connection -- they seem like such radically different stories. my friend said it was more like 'apocalypse now' inside a weird video game...

Kat, how are you liking OMF?

It's a great book -- definitely one of the most complex of Dickens' novels. I forget sometimes how popular he was as an author, but it's easy to see why...he's a masterful plotter.
