Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: PJ Harvey & John Parish (still); New Order, Power, Corruption and Lies; godspeed! you black emperor; Victoire, A Door in the Dark (still); the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, which holds up really, really well.
Watching: my own movie over and over again until I want to gouge out my own eyeballs
Reading: Mary McCarthy, How I Grew (making my slow but steady way through McCarthy's memoirs); the barely legible notes I scribbled during the epic color correction workshop I took during the week
Wearing: United Bamboo dress that makes me feel like I belong in a very glam convent or library, thick black stockings, really old Via Spiga ankle boots, a pretty necklace a dude gave me
Wanting: I was gonna say: EVERYONE TO COME TO MY FILM SCREENING on 4/30 at the IFC Center here in NYC, but alas, it has sold out! In the same day! How did that happen?

+ Laura Jane
Listening: Winter Women by Matthew Friedberger. This time of the year marks the one year anniversary of my falling desperately/debilitatingly in love with Winter Women by Matthew Friedberger. It will always be the most perfect early-April record for me, which is moderately ironic, I guess.
Watching: A shitload of Hills eps- my favourite moment of all Season 4 is when Justin Bobby describes sitting by the ocean as being "zen-ful." Also: Dexter, and Rachel Getting Married, the episode of House where Kumar kills himself, and so on and so forth.
Reading: I finished Rabbit at Rest this week, which upset me, because I don't want to be finished with the Harry "Rabbit" Angstrom tetralogy. Thusly, I started reading Licks of Love, a book of John Updike short stories that finishes with Rabbit Remembered, a "coda" to the rest of the Rabbit books, as it were. I was initially forcing myself to read all the boring short stories that precede Rabbit Remembered so that I could really "earn" reading it, but then I realized how dumb it is that I force myself to do things I don't want to do for no reason, so now I'm reading Rabbit Remembered, for real.
Wearing: Some beautiful jewels (ginormo-rama crystal pendant; clunky chain-link bracelet with crown-esque charm) I bought from the St. Lawrence Sunday Antique Market (as pictured below); ballet flats; Dalmatian-spotted turtleneck
Wanting: A little of this; a metric fuck-ton of that; for it to be socially acceptable to punch people in the face if they suck; an increase in my general fame level; to not have the world's deadest love life; Perhaps I should go into law enforcement?
I AM SO HAPPY I RESCUED YOU GUYS FROM THE PAST:

Say something so insightful and witty, it will blow us away. (No pressure.)
Got something to say? We'd love to hear it! Name, email and "type in the weirdo drunken text" thingie are all required to comment; don't worry, we won't email you or anything, we just want to make sure you're not an evil spambot. Keeping in mind the good-times mentality we like to keep going here, we've worked hard to keep NOGOODFORME.COM as fun as possible. We welcome all kinds of comments, but insults/abuse/general bitchery are not tolerated. In other words, we put the smackdown on evil troll posts. If you want to be a hater, please go elsewhere. Now, as Salt 'N Pepa say, "Only the sexy people..."
