Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting

Listening: "Revolver," that Madonna song with Lil Wayne, off her new comp Celebration. Also listening to tons of the Cure's Disintegration lately, which is kind of the best album ever.
Watching: Eraserhead (bizarre, awesome); Where the Wild Things Are (ehhhh...liked it, but not enough to want to write more than twelve words on it. Like the visuals, but I thought the script was weak.)
Reading: The Landmark Herodotus: The Histories, which is like a super-annotated version of the great Greek history. Believe it or not, this book is absolutely riveting. I'm at the part about Cyrus' attack on Babylon and it's better than most action films.
Wearing: A black Uniqlo sweaterdress, leggings, rip-off faux-Balenciaga ankle boots, motorcycle jacket. BACK IN BLACK!
Wanting: A hug!

Listening: Jane's Addiction, Ritual De Lo Habitual; Let It Be; those Karen O and The Kids songs from Where The Wild Things Are
Watching: Since my last Snapshot I've seen Where The Wild Things Are and Whip It & loved both. Other than that it's "Mad Men"-o-rama.
Reading: Anagrams by Lorrie Moore
Wearing: post-surf clothes, cuz I went surfing! It'd been way too long and now I feel whole again.
Wanting: for my Pacifica Mexican Cocoa body butter to never ever run out. It's divinity.

Listening: Between the Buttons by the Rolling Stones; Harry Nilsson; presently enjoying an unexpected yet highly fulfilling "Donovan phase"
Watching: The episode of Friends where Rachel & Ross sing "Baby Got Back" to their daughter; The Royal Tenenbaums; Here is my review of Where The Wild Things Are: It was fine.
Reading: Finally almost done with John Lennon: The Life! Favourite Beatle Alert!!! Also, the Sienna Miller issue of British Vogue, which includes a feature on Mick Jagger, who it seems is the most annoying person in the world
Wearing: At the beginning of September I was wearing my cerulean Cheap Mondays while sloppily eating this really dank pesto mushroom sandwich and dribbled oil all over them, but then my Dad took them to the dry-cleaners for me and now they are BACK IN ACKSH, so I've been overwearing them to compensate for their 1.5 month absence. Unstoppably fly with this fabulous yellow button-up I scored off Anabela at the Pure Rummage Trunk Show, my spex, and my trusty old "Haute-Timbos."
Wanting: God! All I really want is to be a famous writer who is absurdly wealthy and generally perceived as being "The Hugest Genius Of All-Time", and also to live in a haunted mansion in Savannah, Georgia with my Dream Dude and a bunch of dogs and cats, and wear Christopher Kane minidresses and Agent Provocateur lingerie every day, and be happy and also have a "flat" in London and be best friends with Paul McCartney and be in the process of buying my own Asti Spumante vineyard. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK???
