Beatles Photo of the Week: John Pushing Paul Off a Roof
LAURA JANE: I like to imagine that this photograph is not staged. What if John Lennon actually tried to murder Paul McCartney? I bet if Paul McCartney was actually about to be pushed off a roof, that's what his facial expression would actually look like. Paul's a showman. On second thought, I don't like to imagine that this photograph is not staged. If John Lennon had once tried to murder Paul McCartney, I would hate John Lennon, and then where would I be? I think that, by writing this, I am making everybody reading it think about how John Lennon was actually murdered, which is unfunny. Speaking of murder, I would definitely kill a man to get my filthy paws all over that t-shirt George Harrison is wearing. I mean that both sluttily and non-.
KAT: I have nothing really to say about the Beatles in general, but give me a photo of the Beatles that I can work with, and I'm golden, at least for a few more sentences. (What can I say? I'm not a Beatles fanatic.) In regards to this specific image: I like Paul's pink suit. I neither question his sanity or masculinity, and I encourage other dudes out there to wear suits of nontraditional colors. I also agree with LJ that the t-shirt that George Harrison is wearing is awesome. I'm sure I would agree with Liz about something she's said about this photo, but she hasn't written her part yet. The world stops on its axis RIGHT NOW till she does.
LIZ: I like George's trousers and jacket way more than his shirt! In fact, I don't really like his shirt at all! More importantly, what's going on with George and Ringo here? Is George trying to help John push Paul off the roof? And, if so, is Ringo trying to stop George? That's so nice of Ringo, to try to save Paul. It gives me faith that, if Laura ever tries to push me off a roof and Kat somehow goes along with it, Thurston Moore (aka The Ringo Starr of nogoodforme.com) will magically appear and rescue my pink-suit-sporting self from certain death. "Thanks, old man," I'll say to him. "I didn't know you had it in ya." And so, dear readers, our lesson for today and always: Never underestimate a Ringo! Also: Be kind to your fine feathered friends, for a duck may be somebody's mother. Dig?

Barker, you totally positioned this as if it would be in no way weird if I tried to push you off a roof, but if Kat did, it would be a surprise. Crazy old Laura Jane! Who knows what she'll get up to next!?!

I like to pretend this photo was not staged, but it is a sidewalk John is pushing Paul off of.
Also: really digging George's jacket.
