A Cheap and Easy Cocktail for a Cheap and Easy Valentine's Day

HERE'S HOW TO MAKE A DIZZY MISS LIZZIE, AKA THE BEST VALENTINE'S DAY COCKTAIL EVER
-Spoon 4 (FOUR!) maraschino cherries into your wine glass, or mason jar
-Add a few big glugs of pink wine
-Fizz it up with a couple shots of club soda
-Pour in a lil bit of the cherry juice, and stir with a pink-sugar-coated spoon (optional)
-Drink and get dizzy, like Lizzie
Ta da! Cheap and easy, just like my dream Valentine. It's the lazy lady's take on an Elizabeth Barker, and you should drink it while listening to "Dizzy Miss Lizzie" by the Beatles and wearing the I <3 RINGO pin you bought when you went to see Ringo Starr get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Monday. Ringo doesn't have a whole hell of a lot to do with "Dizzy Miss Lizzie," but he played drums on it - and cowbell! Here's the Shea Stadium rendish:

Say something so insightful and witty, it will blow us away. (No pressure.)
Got something to say? We'd love to hear it! Name, email and "type in the weirdo drunken text" thingie are all required to comment; don't worry, we won't email you or anything, we just want to make sure you're not an evil spambot. Keeping in mind the good-times mentality we like to keep going here, we've worked hard to keep NOGOODFORME.COM as fun as possible. We welcome all kinds of comments, but insults/abuse/general bitchery are not tolerated. In other words, we put the smackdown on evil troll posts. If you want to be a hater, please go elsewhere. Now, as Salt 'N Pepa say, "Only the sexy people..."

this video made me think of how, when i was younger i always used to think that girls fainted at concerts because they were so "in awe" of the band, while now i just think they must have been drinking or on drugs. makes you wonder!
anyway, nice drink AND video!i'll have to find out where they sell mason jars.

thanks, laura! the jar i drink out of is just an old pasta sauce jar - works like a charm! you could probably also go to redbones and steal one of the jars they serve lemonade in.

YES on the use of mason jars for cocktails. And not for the coincidence with my name, but for the throwback reference to bootleg liquor.
The local roller derby league gave me a bag of candy and cherry vodka for Valentine's Day yesterday. I'm not too much on candy or fruity vodka, but I took it in the spirit of the holiday.
