BREAKING NEWS: The Most Interesting News Story Ever
I'm really obsessed with Archie Comics right now, in this weirdly noncommittal way that is yet to fully reveal its literary and/or cosmic significance, to me, yet, at press time. Did I say "yet" yet? Anyway, it's probably as simple as I'm going to start wearing a grey felt crown soon, and this afternoon I worked out to "Bang Shang A Lang", and I wondered if the frat boy in the Boston Celtics t-shirt could hear it and thought I was wacky. Furthermore, this morning I learned via Gawker via nogoodforme Inner Circle member Jessie Peterson, that Archie Comics is welcoming a GAY to Riverdale!!!!
This is just so exciting, I can barely even contain myself. Check the deets:
Kevin will appear in September's VERONICA #202, in a story called "Isn't it Bromantic?" Kevin Keller is the new hunk in town and Veronica just has to have him. After Kevin defeats Jughead in a burger eating contest at Pop's Chocklit Shoppe, she desperately latches onto him. Mayhem and hilarity ensue as Kevin desperately attempts to let Veronica down easy and her flirtations only become increasingly persistent.
God, Veronica Lodge, could I relate to you any more if I tried? I really love how Kevin Keller warms up to Jughead. I also really love how they bolded I'M GAY! I love what a tolerant human being my best friend in the world Jughead Jones is. I love every single thing, in the entire world, about Archie Comics.

I used to have a these books with Archie comics from different decades and I was totally in love with his jalopy.
I always thought he should end up with Betty because they can be super boring together while Veronica goes sleeps and shops her way across Europe.

As much as I complain about Archie Comics (it's main character is characterized by his inability to make any decision whatsoever), I do like the fact that it's taking steps (small, metered ones unfortunately) to be more progressive. Like I just read a story where The Archies play a show with Josie and the Pussycats and Archie gets some interracial love on with Valerie.
