Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting

Listening: Aphex Twin, Ellen Allien, just a bunch of electronic stuff because everything else is just not working for me right at this moment.
Watching: One of my favorite dudes in the world posted the latest video from Trent Reznor's newest musical offering, How to Destroy Angels, on my Facebook page, and it's seriously freaking my sister out. I think it's the blood and syringes and the singing corpse that is lit on fire.
Reading: Right now my attention span and ability to concentrate have been colonized by tons of freelance work, and it doesn't leave me much to work with. And all my books are put away or sold or going to be so. But I'm making do with the Blake Lively issue of Vogue magazine. I'm slightly intrigued why she didn't get the usual glossy-starlet profile. Is she super-boring or something?
Wearing: A cap and gown for MY GRADUATION! Most useless outfit ever!
Wanting: HEY GUYS, I'M SELLING MY BACK ISSUES OF LULA!!! I was just going to Ebay them but I thought I'd offer them up here first. I have issues 1-8 to unload. These are pretty rare and maniacs offer them up for hundreds of dollars on Ebay (especially the early ones) but I would sell them to nogoodforme lovelies at cost ($15) + mailing + the processing fee my shopping cart service charges (NOT PAYPAL BUT YOU DO GET TO PAY WITH CREDIT CARD). They're all in pretty decent shape and intact (no ripping out pages or cutouts.) UPDATE: All the Lulas are gone now and have found lovely new homes with some very lovely readers! Thank you, everyone, for the interest! Who knew the first Lula is such a collector's item?

Watching: That show where my boyfriend is LOST on an island and he's a doctor and I relate to him so much and he's beautiful
Reading: All the intensely kind things people said about me to win a hundred bones worth of MJ
Wearing: This sparkly turquoise GapKids sundress with red lipstick, a red cardigan, and red ballet flats. Turquoise and red is such an ebullient color-combo!
Wanting: I'd like to go on a holiday to Morocco before the year is through, so that I can have a Morocco part be in my book. Hey Dr Jack Shephard, if you're reading this PLEASE take me to Morocco this year okay my sweet baby boy????!?!?!

Watching: The first three episodes of “Eastbound and Down” – I enjoyed Will Ferrell’s take on Ric Flair as a car salesman, but otherwise it’s just kinda so-so.
Reading: “Other Lives” by Peter Bagge, Achewood by Chris Onstad, late 20th-century Avengers comics by Kurt Busiek and George Perez
Eating: Flat-iron steak and sweet potatoes.
Wanting: Safe travel to Virginia Beach and another derby bout as exciting as last Sunday’s last-minute win by the Star City Roller Girls over the Charlotte B-Dazzlers.

I could have sworn that I was the only one who thought Mickey Rourke was hot in that movie, but you proved me wrong, and I applaud you for that. I'm pretty sure I'm the only 14 year old to think so, but... still!

Listening: Bill Champlin, The Purrs, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden
Watching: the stupid moth in my living room get away from me every time I try to clap it dead. This is why I do not play baseball (plus I got hit in the lip twice by a ground ball rolling up my arm).
Reading: my incomplete notes on a folded up sheet up paper, in a valiant attempt to find a way to turn them into some semblance of a song.
Wearing: the best dress-up clothes in my wardrobe, including sport coat, and accepting compliments as they come along.
Wanting: a breakthrough.

listening: I read an interview with the singer from tindersticks in a belgian magazine where they asked him to list the albums that were most important to him (my favorite kind of interview, and favorite kind of list), and at nr. 1 he put the three first albums by tim hardin. so, a lot of tim hardin.
watching: medium
reading: articles about irrationality :) got a test on wednesday. philosophy = the best thing to study, ever. but donald davidson is one dense motherfucker.
wearing: clothes that make me feel good.

laura jaaane, i'm moroccan and there is little that i adore as much as i do reading the name of my homeland on blogs that i love. and yes, i admit dr. jack is way hotter than i am, but if he happens too busy being lost and you get a ticket to morocco and thus need a place to stay then email me and i can definitely help out! ;)
