Happy TELL SIX PEOPLE ABOUT NOGOODFORME Day!

As Kat already told everybody, today is nogoodforme.com's 6th birthday! That's 18 in blog years, which is awesome, cuz it means next year we'll be old enough to legally drink and can finally stop sneaking swigs of Boone's Farm in the 7-Eleven parking lot. Anyway, because ponies and pink Porsches are such overrated birthday gifts, we're going to ask that you give us something immaterial and vastly more meaningful.

How easy is that? You could skywrite it, shout it from the rooftops, get our logo tattooed on your forehead - or just keep it simple and bring it up over root beer floats/Shirley Temples/Jack-n-Gingers later on today. Or you could blog about it. Blogs are great. We love blogs!

Oh, and if you can somehow spread the word to any of the following people, we will give you $666 million and take you out to dinner at the restaurant of your choice in the New York, Los Angeles, or Toronto area:

We've been in a constant state of psyched-ness since Tuesday night, when voting clearly worked for once in America. Maybe you are too? Do you want to make your opinion known again? We're just a lil ol' fashion blog, but we want to know what you, dear readers, want to see more of here. As a thank-you, if you give us your email (which we WON'T do anything spammy with), you'll be entered in a drawing to win a cutie-pie t-shirt from Boy Meets Girl, which recently had a tote bag featured in this week's episode of "Gossip Girl." (And by the way, not really digging Jenny's new quasi-couture-meets-Avril Lavigne mall punk stylee. Why are there so many Jenny storylines this season? She annoys me.) The t-shirt looks like the one below, only ours is brown with a gold logo. (It's pretty much the cutest logo ever, no?) V O T E !

Americans! Tomorrow! Do it! You know you want to!

New Yorkers: Polls are open from 6am to 9pm. They anticipate long lines, so consider voting early. You can check your voting location here or by calling 1-866-VOTE-NYC. And remember, if something goes wonky and you're not on the list, you can always request a provisional ballot that will be counted once your vote is verified. And here's a fashion tip: there's an obscure, not-really-enforced-but-you-never-know electioneering law on the books prohibiting people from wearing stuff like political t-shirts or buttons within 100 feet of voting area entrances. So you may want not want to wear your campaign t-shirt. Or at least wear a hoodie or something over it. New York is so weird, yo.

P.S. - I think I am totally freaking out.

Setting the Record Straight!

Um, this is not really part of what we do here, but it's come to my attention that there are some problematic political ads running on our site here and there. Our ad server is automated, so we do our best to filter out those types of ads -- but unfortunately they do pop up and it takes a few hours till we can filter them out. Whatever, man! So, anyway: we just wanted to make it clear that, despite what some of the ads that pop up on our pages could make you think, the American citizens at nogoodforme.com are pro-Obama in this election season, and if I lived in California still, I'd be voting no on Proposition 8.

To Go: "Beautifully Worn" Fashion Photo Show, Opening Reception Oct. 15, 2008

The rock keeps on rolling at nogoodforme.com. No sooner than we recovered from the bliztkrieg of fun known as Spirit Animal House than we got on the proverbial ball to curate and organize our very first art show! We are super-stoked and very proud to announce that BEAUTIFULLY WORN is going up next Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 at NYC boutique Clarabella. And we graciously invite all of you lovely people to come to the opening reception that very same day from 6-9pm, where there will be refreshments and two of the nogoodforme troika in attendance! We are truly amped to show you all the photos we collected from various good souls who sent in images and words responding to our question "What do you love to wear?" The results will charm the pants off of you, we guarantee it. If you can't make the opening, the show will continue to grace Clarabella's walls until November 30, when we take down the photos and the apocalypse comes. Or something like that.

nogoodforme.TV is For Reals: Our Channel At Mogulus.com!

nogoodforme.com gets more and more multimedia everyday! We are pleased as punch to announce that we're a featured channel over at Mogulus.com! Mogulus is a new broadband platform that broadcasts both live and on-demand video content -- think of it as souped-up public access television or a DIY cable network, only it's all on the Internerd. We have our own little home over in Mogulusville, and it's super-pretty; please do check it out, embed our player in your profiles, keep it on all the time, basically watch t.v. for eight hours a day like your mother told you NOT to. Yeah! That'll get her back for crampin' your six-year old style!

We've featured ALL of the nogoodforme.tv video content we've already shared here, as well as a few more things that haven't made it to el bloggerino yet. (Don't worry, YouTube diehards, we'll keep putting things there.) You can watch the videos as one endless loop, or you can dominate over playlist fascism by selecting our content through the On Demand option. Plus, sometimes we're (or at least I'm) on there during the day, so peep up in the adjoining chat room and maybe we shall say hello. Enjoy, my pretties!

Don't Forget: Submit to Our "Beautifully Worn" Photo Show

Beautiful procrastinators, don't forget to submit to our photo show, "Beautifully Worn," which will be on show at Clarabella later this fall! We've gotten totally great submissions so far, ranging from band t-shirts to couture dresses to everything in between and from all over the world. We've gotten simple snapshots to beautifully art-directed photo shoots. The diversity and all the little stories have been remarkable -- and yes, we want more! So please do submit, and if you can't make the date, please let us know you're interested so we can keep an eye out for you.

nogoodforme.com presents: BEAUTIFULLY WORN

Oh, nogoodforme.com! Do you ever sleep? To be perfectly honest, NO. Three days after Spirit Animal House came, went, and RULED, we're so done with hibernating (We're not bears! We're wolves, turtles, alley cats, and Logan Echolls!), and are all impossibly excited for our next endeavor into the wild world of IRL: Beautifully Worn, the photo show we'll be curating at our beloved Clarabella.

In the grand tradition of nogoodforme.com, we hope that Beautifully Worn can provide the fashion blogosphere with a majorly subverted, hella scrappy, and decidedly AVANT-WACK take on the ever-entertaining format of "pictures of people wearing clothes" (not to be confused with "People Take Pictures of Eachother," which is a song by the Kinks).

You know how The Sartorialist is the most boring website on the entire Internet because everybody who makes it on is a fashion editor, and whenever you boredly e-wander onto it you just get irritated because it's like, "Well, yeah, no kidding Carine Roitfeld has good style!"- well, Beautifully Worn is going to be the exact opposite of that. Not only do we hope that YOU, our faithful readers, will send along photos of yourself in your favorite outfit to ngfmphotoshow (at) gmail.com, but we hope that you'll pass the word along to everybody you know, the weirder the better: we're talking dads, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, three-year-old cousins, hippie art teachers, therapists, grandmother's therapists, accountants, morticians, and (if at all possible) Michael Showalter.

All pertinent information can be found in the lovely image displayed below, and don't forget that the deadline for submissions is Saturday, September 20th (don't worry, I'm sure we'll remind you again).

PS: Because I am an incredibly nice person, here are some questions that might assist you in brainstorming up your perfect perspective on Beautifully Worn Chic:

-If you were turned into a cartoon character and could only be drawn wearing one outfit forever, what would it be?
-Which is more important: fashion or function?
-High-concept, low-concept, or no-concept?
-If you were stranded on the LOST desert island with only one outfit, what would you hope for it to be?
-If the love of your life showed up at your front door tomorrow morning and told you that you had five minutes to get ready for the date of your dreams, what would you grab?

nogoodforme Goes Art-tastic: We Want You (or Pictures of You) For Our Photo Show!

If the fashion blogosphere were like high school, nogoodforme.com would've started out like that quiet girl who sat in the back of class, doing her homework and her own thing while doodling Smiths and Cure lyrics on her folder and drawling the occasional smart-alecky comment, kind of like Daria Morgendorfer back in the day. (Curious aside: when the hell are they going to get "Daria" on DVD, man?) These days, though, I feel like we've hit that phase where we're applying to college and doing all sorts of crazy extracurriculars that make car pooling a nightmare and keeps us working at all odd hours and then some. We're way busy, especially since we're busting our arses for our Spirit Animal House party. (COME! BUY A RAFFLE TICKET!) But we've also got other special events in the pipeline that we've been itching to tell you about. Which is why we are totally stoked, excited, ripped, and full of beans to announce that we are curating a photography show at Clarabella later in the fall! And we are even more amped because WE WANT YOU TO BE IN IT.

Here's the deal: Send us digital photos of you wearing your favorite item of clothing. It's really that simple. The picture can be anything you want: simple, glamorous, mundane, artful, abstract, heavily art-directed, utterly plain, humorous, dramatic, goofy, "just a snapshot" or whatever. Let your heart and your eye lead you to what feels right for this little assignment. (Although, please, at least be clothed!)

Send us a digital photo (no higher than 300dpi and about 1500 to 3000 pixels wide should be plenty of image size) to ngfmphotoshow@gmail.com. Give us your name, location (city and state), the name of the item that is your favorite (you know, like "yellow flip-flops" or "my fanciest Balenciaga dress ever.") And for extra sugar credit, give us a small bit about why it's your favorite or what happened to you the last time you wore it.

Our only requirements, besides the aforementioned pieces of information, are that it is a photo, and it is a photo that you took (or someone took of you.) In other words, don't send us 'professional' images from a catalog, another website or whatever that are copyrighted by someone else.

We'll include as many images as we can fit on the walls and in the store, and we may even be ambitious and print up a limited edition catalog. (We're on the road to overachieverville if we manage that!) This photo call is open until September 15, 2008 and it is open to anyone (dudes and spirit animals included), so please spread the word!

We are excited to see what you lovelies come up with!
