Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Right now I really just want to listen to super-girly pop music, like old-school Destiny's Child and Lily Allen's and Madonna's and Gwen Stefani's respective first albums. I'm sorry, but I'm hella stress-y right now.
Watching: A weird combination of "Buffy" and "Mad Men" and the new ep of "Gossip Girl." Which, by the way....??? GG, why do I feel so disconnected to you? What happened to the magic? The love? Why are you so dull to me now?
Reading: I blasted through the whole Harry Potter series. Stress-y!
Wearing: Actually, before a meeting this week I dropped into the Liberty of London for Target pop-up shop near Times Square and picked up a peacock-print halter dress and a chiffon romper/pj thingie. Then after my meeting I got a super-cute ruffly-top. I have to say: there is so much ridiculous springtime cuteness in this collection, it may be the best Target collabo ever, if only for the amazing housewares and those men's shirts. AND I REALLY WANT THAT BIKE. Despite the fact that the idea of riding a bike in NYC gives me hives.
Wanting: You know what I want? BIG HAIR. I'm on a journey in life and this is the part of the story where I need BIG HAIR. This demands its own crazy post. Stay tuned!
I want hair this big. Actually, EVEN BIGGER. Also, a boob would be cool:

+ Liz
Listening: the songs that form the Cadbury Creme Egg yin-yang of my life
Watching: Alice in Wonderland. Alan Rickman is a sexy caterpillar.
Reading: the Spin archives!
Wearing: Hello Kitty pajama pants and my "Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner" t-shirt
Wanting: ibuprofen, Hot Tamales and Diet Coke, to reconnect with my number-one dream dude
This totally got me - little kids singing some Phoenix song makes me cry and smile soooooooo much. So much:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: All sorts of neat stuff! The Slits, "Ping Pong Affair"; The Beatles, "Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey"; Ringo, Ringo; Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Mambo Nassau; "Cool Calm & Collected" by the Rolling Stones, which is what the Rolling Stones would sound like if the Rolling Stones were the Kinks. Knowing life, this song is probably about Edie Sedgwick
Watching: Can't really beat a Ben Linus-centric episode of LOST now can we?
Reading: Beastie Boys SPIN issue from September 1998. You know, I think it's so weird that in September 1998 I had never listened to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band but listened to the second half of "The Sounds of Science" by the Beastie Boys over and over again and adored it more than ANYTHING, totes obliv to the fact that the samples were from Sgt. Pepper. This proves that I love the Beatles viscerally and innately, which is COOL
Wearing: Hella mascara; this cool new outfit called "Hooker Rooftop John Lennon"; I'd like to explore other "Hooker John Lennon" looks in the coming weeks. It's really working for me. All the best parts of John Lennon, and all the best parts of a prostitute. There's one for my gravestone!
Wanting: Okay, Starbucks. You caught me. This is me, admitting it: I want a Dark Cherry Mocha. I may even want an Iced Dark Cherry Mocha. Yeah.
Here is "Hooker Rooftop John Lennon." Clearly, I really struggled with taking this picture. Either I was blurry, or my face got cut off. But isn't that the whole point? Of hookers?

Tags: Alan Rickman, Beastie Boys, Ben Linus, big hair, bikes, dream dudes, Gossip Girl, Hooker John Lennon, Hot Tamales, John Lennon, LOST, Ringo, Rooftop John Lennon, Starbucks, Target, the Cadbury Creme Egg yin-yang of my life, the PS22 chorus

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: All I need right now is Danzig and the Replacements with a dash of Spoon.
Watching: Watching a lot of DP reels. Also wending my way through "Mad Men" and some old-school "Buffy." But this weekend I'm hopefully going to see The Secret of Kells and Un Prophete.
Reading: A weird mixture of Harry Potter, fashion magazines and stuff about Steadicam.
Wearing: Back to uniform: boy oxford shirt, skinny jeans, boots.
Wanting: I wish my thesis film would just somehow make itself.
I'm really tired and don't have much energy to come up with a fun YouTube clip. Sorry. You'll have to make do with the Keepon robot dancing to Spoon from a few years back:
+ Liz
Listening: right this instant, "The Lights" by Juliana Hatfield
Watching: Weeds, Weeds, nothing but Weeds
Reading: that Chuck Klosterman article on Pavement; a book I've already read before
Wearing: my current uniform: black skinny jeans + grey Edun t-shirt tank top + black studded boots + black fake-leather jacket + that asymmetrical feather cloche. Single braid, placed over my right shoulder. Faux-silver cuff. Socks.
Wanting: Ummm, what's a girl gotta do to get a single-serving bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs around here? I've searched far and wide (i.e., the Rite Aid and the Walgreen's) and yet my search is fruitless. Do they not make them anymore? Also I want a Cadbury Mini Egg McFlurry.
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+ Laura Jane
Listening: Margo Guryan, 25 Demos and Take A PIcture; "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)"; Once a year, I try to make myself fall in love with Laura Nyro because I feel like I should- she has my same name! But I don't love Laura Nyro, and I think it's time for me to give it up
Watching: My new project is to look at the sky for a certain amount of minutes a day, and then write down what the sky looked like in a cool way
Reading: I am really into the Twitter account named Tweets of Old, which " attempt[s] to reveal the lives of our predecessors through the tweets of yesteryear --extracted tidbits from old newspapers." My favourites from this week were "A New York young lady has appeared on the streets with a kitten's head on her hat." (from 1883) and, from 1923, "Improvement in appearance improves the man. We need not become dudes. Neither should we decry good dressing." We need not become dudes!!!
Wearing: I'm trying to improve my appearance. I need not become a dude.
Wanting: A Diet Coke vending machine made out of rubies; to get my cell phone ring from five years ago, which was "You Sang To Me" by Marc Anthony, out of my head, but I really don't see that happening. I'd also like to be a stigmatic. That would really spice shit up. Everybody would be all, "Whoa! Did you hear Laura Jane woke up yesterday morning bleeding from her palms and feet like Jesus Christ?" and I'd be all, "Yeah, I don't know, it's just, like, this thing that happened to me, you know?"
Me, I hope:

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Spoon, Unwound, Clikitat Ikatowi, Lily Allen
Watching: The 4th season of "Buffy," i.e. "The Buffster goes to college." Many years later, I have a newfound appreciation for Riley Finn. Does this mean I'm growing up?
Reading: All those Percy Jackson and the Olympians books.
Wearing: Crappy black skinny jeans, Acne sweater
Wanting: I seriously just want to sleep and stay in my bed and not wake up till nature finally decides it's fucking springtime. I'm just TIRED!
This is the first result you get when you type in "dancing kittens" in the Search field on youtube.com:
+ Liz
Listening: "Milkshake" by Kelis + the songs I posted in Heavy Rotation + secretly sexy Bob Seger
Watching: that amazing Glenn Danzig vid that reader Tatyana shared with us yesterday led me down a very dark path that eventually brought me to Mr. T's "Treat Your Mother Right" (for the zillionth time)
Reading: Speaking of readings, I went to The Lit Thing: Book Bash Tuesday night and it was just TOPS.
Wearing: pinstriped PJ pants and a t-shirt that shouts "PROTECT OUR CORAL REEFS!" in day-glo rainbow colors
Wanting: I WANT ALL THE EASTER CANDY. And beautiful shoes, still.
I just never ever get sick of this:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Ghostface Killah, Ironman; PIcturesque Matchstickable Messages from the Status Quo
Watching: Sad-eyed Ringo of the Lowlands
Reading: The "Choose Your Own Adventure" novel that is my life. I choose my own adventures!
Wearing: Glasses & a hat at the same time, to cultivate an air of mystery; all-black because it makes me look like a writer
Wanting: I'd like for something interesting to happen to the solar system. Like maybe they could discover a new moon of Jupiter, and then they could name it after me, because I predicted its discovery on my blog. BTW, I totally just typoed "discovery" as "discography."
Here's a really cool video of an animatronic My Little Pony belting out a song from Dreamgirls:

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Liz
Listening: "Choose Love" by Ringo Starr. "Tomorrow never knows what goes on!" says he, correctly.
Watching: Elizabeth Banks was pretty great on 30 Rock
Reading: the amazing thing I wrote about Houses of the Holy, which contains the phrases "mystical boning" and "Sunday kind of yikes," as well as "goat cheese salad." Plus: the spring fashion issue of New York.
Wearing: I've been wearing my asymmetrical feather cloche lots lately, which is fun.
Wanting: to find the real-life version of the imaginary watering hole in my head where smokin' babes unironically dance/sing along to "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy. It probably has the words "Bar and Grill" in the name, like in the bar in "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy. Also there's probably keno.
nogoodforme all-star commenter Rob sent me this vid the other day and predicted I'd find it adorable - and boy did I ever! Nice hair, Rich.
+ Laura Jane
Listening: The Wu-Tang/Beatles mash-up, the actual Beatles
Watching: Georgie Fame live in concert in 1965
Reading: I'm a little bit skeptical of reading right now, because it "pollutes my voice." And who wants a polluted voice? I sure don't.
Wearing: The "Beatles 4 Ever" t-shirt I wore when I time-traveled back in time to go see Georgie Fame
Wanting: To re-live Georgie Fame concert night
Laura at the Georgie Fame concert (THX ANDREA):

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Charlotte Gainsbourg, IRM. Go on, haters, but this is my favorite pop record right now. It's pleasant to listen to but there's a lot of death stuff on it, which is like Goth easy listening in concept. Really it's like the best record that Beck never made, only he kind of did, since he wrote and produced a lot of it -- but obviously he needed a Gallic babe as his spirit animal to complete himself. Dear Charlotte Gainsbourg -- you go from being the only palatable part of Antichrist to this record in the space of a year, are you an effin' alien from another universe? 'CAUSE YOU ROCK COSMIC.
Watching: "Mad Men"; I finished every possible episode of "30 Rock" except for the first 8 episodes of the current season; and tomorrow I think I'm going to see The Young Victoria.
Reading: I re-read Elizabeth Kostova's The Historian. I was hoping it would take me through Valentine's Day because I can't think of anything better to read than a slow, absorbing book about Vlad the Impaler on that day. But alas, I have to come up with something else. I also finished re-reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog. That book always kills me in a good way, even though I'm not fond of the ending.
Wearing: Lots of tights and leggings to keep warm, a sweater and an Alexander McQueen for Target dress "in honor and remembrance." Alexander McQueen, R.I.P. I feel so sad about his passing.
Wanting: I WANT TO SLEEP AND SLEEP AND SLEEP LIKE A LITTLE BABY TILL SPRINGTIME AND THEN WAKE UP TO SUNSHINE. HIBERNATION NOW!
Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck, "Heaven Can Wait"
+ Liz
Listening: this delightful "Breakfast with the Beatles" interview in which Ringo Starr discusses the "Ringo Starr Diet" (for breakast, muesli or oatmeal - "always with berries!"; juice and a protein bar for lunch; pesto pasta or "steamed veg" for dinner)
Watching: Ringo Starr get his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (or, I did Monday night, anyway)
Reading: oh, lots of different things all at once, including a book on how to get rich quick
Wearing: the maroon "Norland Sr. High Class of 1981" t-shirt I bought for $3 at the American Apparel outlet on the Venice Beach boardwalk, fave blue jeans, blue sequin Converse, black knit beret, fake leather jacket with "I <3 Ringo" pin!
Wanting: an individually sized cake from Cake Monkey, especially the 'Nuff Said (chocolate crumble with marshmallow, caramel, dark chocolate, pecans, and sea salt) or the Coconut Cake (brown butter cake with caramel, toasted coconut, and shredded coconut frosting) or even just the Vanilla Gorilla (vanilla cake with Tahitian vanilla frosting and sugar sparkles)
(Left: some sort of Cake Monkey cake that's probably Christmasy but could maybe also be Valentinesy. Right: Ringo for President!)

+ Laura Jane
Listening: Look. Listen. You don't understand. I was the girl from "Girl" from the Beatles, and it was killing me. I listened to "Girl", and I cried on the street. I take these things too seriously. The girl from "Girl" grows up to be "Sexy Sadie." I listened to "Sexy Sadie." I saw what was coming, and I didn't like it one bit. I pressed "next" on my iPod, which is set, permanently, to the "shuffle" function. And then, I saw- I've changed. I'm not "Girl" anymore. I'm "Wild Honey Pie."
Watching: I'm "Wild Honey Pie," forever and ever. It's me, standing in the middle of a field, and the Beatles are dancing in a circle around me. They are playing a uke and a gee-tar and a fiddle and a tambou, and they are singing me this song. The twitchy-eyed guitars. All of them, are for me.
Reading: I Wikipedia-ed "Wild Honey Pie," and I found out that "Wild Honey Pie" is actually just Paul McCartney, in a room. I had no idea! That makes it better, somehow.
Wearing: When I am in the field, I am wearing a crown of blackthorns and blackthorn berries. I'm wearing an eyepatch, and it looks great on me. In the field are growing daffodils, dandelions and sunflowers. The Beatles are wearing burgundy, mustard, dull orange, and teal corduroy trousers.
Wanting: Cool things to happen
Are y'all ready to get Laura JANED???
Tags: Alexander McQueen, cake, Charlotte Gainsbourg, corduroy trousers, dandelions, hibernation, If People Were Beatles Songs, Laura Jane Faulds, Laura loves the Beatles, Ringo Starr, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Ringo Starr Diet, Valentine's Day, Venice Beach, Vlad the Impaler, Wild Honey Pie

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: R.E.M., Automatic for the People and Murmur; Vampire Weekend, Contra (I want to really not like this, but I think it's okay); Beach House, Teen Dream (which is really good); and Daryl Hall & John Oates, which is kind of the best stuff ever, really.
Watching: Episodes of "30 Rock" and debating whether or not to go to the Red Riding trilogy at IFC Center this weekend
Reading: Re-reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog
Wearing: A Rodarte for Target dress, a cardigan, tights, boots.
Wanting: Why does filmmaking have to be such a headache sometimes?
This song is so groooooovvvvvvy:
+ Liz
Listening: Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy
Watching: Freaks and Geeks for the zillionth time
Reading: Patti Smith's book still
Wearing: Last night it was cold enough to wear my thinking cap! So I did. People say the weirdest shit to you when you put on a faux leopard fur trapper hat and walk around.
Wanting: Elsewhere on the Internet, I just confessed my lifelong wish to get hit in the face with a pie. But it has to be a cream pie. "that would suck, to get hit in the face with an apple pie instead of a cream pie," was my follow-up comment.
A clip of the legendary "Three's Company" pie fight, which weirdly plays "What You Say" by Loon anytime anyone gets hit:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Mostly that Wu-Tang/Beatles mash-up
Watching: The season premiere of LOST, which was confusing. Yet awesome!
Reading: Some Country Houses and Their Owners, by James Lees-Milne, which is boring. Yet lovely! It's about how Mr. Lees-Milne travelled around to many an English mansion, and then wrote about it, diary-style. It's a tad lifeless. I want to write this book over again.
Wearing: "Little Red Riding Hood in a Canada Goose Parka", which is more of a "life concept" than a "fashion concept." My fashion concept is "Laura Jane Faulds: blurring the line between Sexy Secretary and Slutty Secretary since Wednesday, February 3rd!"
Wanting: Beatles-themed Tarot cards; for my life to be a little more 101 Dalmatians-esque; Paul McCartney's cell phone number; a long-term committed relationship with Dr. Jack Shepherd of LOST fame
Tags: Anglophilia, Dr. Jack Shepherd, filmmaking, Freaks and Geeks, Led Zeppelin, LOST, Patti Smith, Paul McCartney, pie fights, Red Riding trilogy, Rodarte, sexy secretary chic, thinking caps, Three's Company

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Liz
Listening: Patti Smith singing songs at the Hammer last night
Watching: Patti Smith reading stories (at the Hammer, last night)
Reading: Just Kids by Patti Smith; this really great New York article about Patti Smith
Wearing: The other night I looked exactly like Izzy Stradlin. Or...maybe I looked exactly like Patti Smith?
Wanting: to get a good spot tonight and tomorrow night, when I go see Patti Smith.
Last night Patti Smith dedicated this song to J.D. Salinger:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: "Doing That Scrapyard Thing" by Cream, which is my favourite song of all-time. Though aren't they all?; Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life by Jay-Z; "Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues" by the Beatles
Watching: Love, Actually, and I cried at a) the part when Liam Neeson plays "Bye Bye Baby" at his wife's funeral, b) the part when the dude who's in love with Keira Knightley shows her the wedding video and then is all weird on the street, and c) the part when Laura Linney brings home the sexy Spanish (?) graphic designer and then can't do it with him because she's tied down to her crazy brother who looks like John Cusack only fatter. I'm also really into the Hugh Grant and Colin Firth plotlines. PS: if you ever do this to me, I'll kill you.
Reading: Seymour: An Introduction, because JD Salinger died and I'm mushy like that
Wearing: My Snuggie
Wanting: That thing that happened to Ebenezer Scrooge with the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future to happen to me? To live in a parallel Universe where Hugh Grant is the Prime Minister of England and I am his sexy secretary and then we fall in love at the Christmas play? For a job to exist called "puppy holder" and for me to have it?

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Unwound, New Plastic Ideas; some of those Toro Y Moi songs floating around the Internets; excavating more and more Fever Ray remixes; random mixtapes up at Resident Advisor
Watching: My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? which was bananas and a bit like Werner Herzog's Greatest Hits crammed into one film. I enjoyed it, but it didn't quite come together.
Reading: I finished William Gibson's Spook Country. Like My Son, My Son, it didn't quite come together for me at the end and I wasn't fully engaged with all the characters, but I love that feeling I get at the end of Gibson's work where I feel like I have a million awesome new topics to look up on Wikipedia. The man's wicked smart. Also: the Jessica Biel Vogue issue.
Wearing: For a week I totally forgot my Acne sweaterdress existed, but today I remembered and now I am wearing it!
Wanting: To see Pop Star on Ice and not be ashamed! Why did I not discover Johnny Weir earlier in my life? Such are the travails of not owning a television that can get channels!
I got this video of Johnny Weir performing to "Poker Face" from nogoodforme Inner Circle member Cathy de la Cruz and it's pretty much changed my life:
+ Liz
Listening: the songs I posted in Heavy Rotation yesterday; other songs
Watching: re-watching the very beautiful Go-Getter; Skate Witches
Reading: that New York excerpt from Game Change, about John and Elizabeth Edwards. In a word: BONKERS.
Wearing: Lakers tee + skinny jeans + cowboy boots + leather jacket + charm necklace
Wanting: NO MORE RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Skate Witches! So stoked that my buddy Kate shared this on Facebook:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Jay-Z, with a side of Jay-Z, and then a little Jay-Z thrown in for good measure
Watching: A string quartet play Beethoven (srsly)
Reading: True story: it takes me longer than one week to read a book
Wearing: I am forcing myself to wear my glasses every day until March 1st, 2010, for the sake of my eye health. Ugh! Life feels like second-grade all over again. My glasses are cool but I hate them. The one upside of my glasses is that they're Jay-Z-esquely named "The Tycoon," though I didn't name them that. Please don't think I'm such a huge cutesy loser that I'd nickname my own glasses. That's as wildly retarded as naming your own haircut Arthur.
Wanting: I wish "they" would pay me $50 per every clever thought I have. Also: NO MORE WINTER!!!!!!!!!

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: My days recently have been musicless, which is a rarity.
Watching: However, I have been watching movies like mad: M. Hulot's Holiday, Shopgirl, House of Flying Daggers, The Baader-Meinhof Complex, and episodes of season 2 "30 Rock."
Reading: I just started William Gibson's Spook Country, which I am muy excited about!
Wearing: Yesterday I wore skirt and tights and a simple navy blue sweater and felt just right.
Wanting: I'm in low spirits today and I need to be set right. Needless to say, I'm waiting for the "big epiphany" that Susan Miller promised me to hit me on the head like a bunch of bricks and ruin my weekend.
In the meantime, I like watching this "Buffy vs. Edward" YouTube vid. It's totally made my week:
+ Liz
Listening: Warpaint, mostly because their EP was mixed by John "I Live To Break Barker's Heart" Frusciante
Watching: Paper Heart. I loved the part where the little girl says the perfect date is going to Applebee's for hot wings, but other than that - "meh." Also I keep meaning to tell you that I saw Medicine for Melancholy and thought it was tops.
Reading: Self-Help by Lorrie Moore; the JLo issue of Elle
Wearing: red plaid flannel + black tie-dyed tank + skinny jeans + big black boots
Wanting: On Wednesday a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad thing happened to me, and I would like to exact revenge on the person responsible. As I status-updated yesterday at 1:16 p.m., I'm seeking revenge ideas "more efficient than voodoo dolls but less dramatic than blowing up a house." Suggestions welcome!
Totes the best part of Paper Heart:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: "You Know What To Do" by Baby George Harrison
Watching: I srsly can't believe I haven't gone to see Avatar stoned yet. Will I EVER get my priorities straight?!?
Reading: I read a book called Brooklyn by Colm Toibin on Tuesday when I was eye infection-relatedly out of commission. It was boring, yet captivating. Now I am reading Zeitoun by Dave Eggers, which is slack-ly written. One paragraph contained too many "would"s, and it bothered me. He's not trying. He's resting on his "being a famous writer" laurels.
Wearing: Nothing to write home about
Wanting: It's that time of year again! January. When all I want is for winter to be over. "What do you feel like doing tonight?" people ask, and all I can think to say are things I'd want to do in July. In July, you can do anything. July is my real life.

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Max Richter, Memoryhouse; Mary Timony, Mountains (really great January music); and for some reason I listen to "La Isla Bonita" about once a day lately
Watching: I have been busy producing a short that is shooting at the end of the month, which ironically doesn't give me a lot of time for movies. I did see The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which was "meh" for me. And I also watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age, which was visually grand and dramatically flat. What a waste of Cate Blanchett! I am going to see Werner Herzog's My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? this weekend, and perhaps Police, Adjective. What is going on in Romania, man? They are coming out with some awesome movies these past few years!
Reading: The first book I read in 2010 was Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee. This is a very strange book with which to begin a new year, it was so good but so bleak. I also re-read Smart Girls Like Me from Bunnyshop's own Diane Vadino, and it's as great and clever the second time around as the first. I also read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, which, in light of my TOO LOVE FOR YOU project of 2010, seems to be required reading. This had the peculiar feeling of not quite relating to the author, but still valuing a lot of her insights and experience. Which is a valuable experience in and of itself, of course.
Wearing: I'm still in my pajamas! Pajama Friday!
Wanting: Another bowl of cereal.
There's crazy, and then there's Werner Herzog-crazy:
+ Liz
Listening: "Wichita Lineman" by Glen Campbell (SADDEST SONG EVER)
Watching: Youth in Revolt, which I hated about three times less than I hated the book. It's fun to watch because of Michael Cera, if you love Michael Cera, but once it's over you're all, "Grrr, fuck off!"
Reading: Best American Short Stories 1999
Wearing: my "Slutty Neil Young" outfit. As if Neil Young weren't slutty enough already!
Wanting: a Beatles Rock Band Penguin (see below, 1:39 on), probably my number-one dream pet in all the world.
Is it nerdy that I totally get the chills when they're about to go over the cliff?
+ Laura Jane
Listening: An interesting turn of events that would have inspired my naive past-self to call the Lame Police on my awesome now-self is that my this week's Beatles Songs of the Week are "Boys", "Besame Mucho", and "Free as a Bird." WHO KNEW???
Watching: A lot of quality shit along the lines of Julie and Julia and the entirety of Season Six of Entourage
Reading: Eating the Dinosaur by Chuck Klosterman, which references both The Madcap Laughs AND "20th Century Man" by the Kinks. Does this strike anyone else as a little SUSPECT????
Wearing: This week I learned a very valuable lesson, which is that if you sluttily wear a low-cut white v-neck t-shirt with a leopard-print bra, and then you scrap it up with Iron Maiden Vans, you will feel like the Sexiest Man Alive! In other news, boy are my eyebrows ever killer!
Wanting: I want Ringo Starr to die, so I can feel something.
DOESN'T THIS JUST SAY EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING ABOUT THE BEATLES????? ARE YOU CRYING?
PS: The other day I was listening to "Free As A Bird" on the subway and it was George Harrison's guitar solo and it a) blew my mind and b) made me so sad about George Harrison's death! "The world really lost a great guitar player when George Harrison died," I thought.
