Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Lately I have been listening to somewhat dark, feminine things like Victoire and Julianna Barwick. If you are into indie-classical like Rachel's, you will like Victoire a lot, and Julianna Barwick sounds like if Enya was cool. That is weird, I know, but trust me, it's really beautiful and ethereal and heavenly. It also keeps me in a FOFZ, as LJ would say. But I also just downloaded ZZ Top's greatest hits and I'm really looking forward to that.
Watching: I haven't seen anything recently! I want to see Winter's Bone. Who has seen it? Is it worth catching in the theatres? Also I want to see I Am Love because Tilda Swinton is my celebrity spirit animal and I love her.
Reading: I have been reading a collection of short stories by John Cheever. Why it took me so long to get to reading Cheever is beyond me! I love the patina of civility and grace that is the atmosphere of his stories, but underneath it is this sad, sordid thing that makes his fiction so riveting. I swear he probably invented Don Draper. I also like to call him "old Cheever" in my mind, like he's the old dude down the street who sits on his stoop and plays cards with his neighbors.
Wearing: The zebra dress from Laura Dawson that we featured so long ago in Spirit Animal House.
Wanting: Dudes, do you realize what an epic NOGOODFORME week it's been in the last week? Since last Friday, LJ and I HUNG OUT IN NYC (sniff, we missed Barker SO MUCH) and there is so much excitement afoot! I would like us three to be able to go on quarterly vacations with one another where we hole up in glam hotels around the world and work because we get up to such brilliant things and crack each other up. UNIVERSE, BANKROLL THIS SHIT AND MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Film nerds, I'm conducting an experiment...which do you like, the one-shot or the multi-shot, both of my niece and nephew "doing dishes." P.S. - I did not make them do this, they wanted to do this themselves. They also play a game where they drive to NYC to visit me and take taxis together.:
+ Liz
Listening: many many songs with the name "Mary" in them
Watching: LOST ANGELS
Reading: IMPERIAL BEDROOMS
Wearing: Paul McCartney and shorts and shoes
Wanting: a gold-framed photo of Paul McCartney holding a birdcage over George Harrison's head
Do you ever remind yourself of Bob Dylan in the "science student" scene from Don't Look Back? I do, sometimes.
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Fear and Paris 1919 by John Cale, especially Paris 1919, which is the #1 album I've ever heard that sounds like first day of school weather
Watching: I saw the Fiery Furnaces play at some point recently. That was neat.
Reading: I don't know. Nothing.
Wearing: Dresses. I don't know. I'm tired.
Wanting: An Endless Summer t-shirt; actual endless summer; to recover my four-month-long sleep deficit (this will never happen); endless sleep, but not really endless sleep, because that means dying.

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Whatever the hell the shuffle on my music player feels like doing. I've given up the illusion of control over my life. Right this minute: "Car Song" by Elastica. ELASTICA ARE SO GOOD! No, wait, it just switched to Lush's "Deluxe." LUSH ARE SO GOOD!
Watching: Traffic in my window, bits of HD footage, Spirited Away with my niece and nephews (they were very intrigued by No-Face)...oh, and I successfully copied the "Reeling" PJ Harvey concert film to DVD.
Reading: The Vogue with Marion Cotillard on the cover. She's great, but the rest of the ish...zzzzzzzzzz.
Wearing: As little as possible...it's HOT. Not me, the weather!
Wanting: I'M BACK IN NYC! IT'S AWESOME! AND HOT!
You want vintage Polly singing "Rid of Me":
+ Liz
Listening: "I Can't Tell You Why" by the Eagles is on the radio right now. Totes my fave Eagles song.
Watching: this really killer show called Courtney Love Behind the Music
Reading: the same book I've been reading forever. It's so good, despite my slowness.
Wearing: a metallic-striped French Connection tank top I bought for $10 at Crossroads, plus cutoffs & my shiny zebra-striped ballet flats & gunmetal braided satin headband. This all looks really good with my black fake-leather hooded jacket, btdubs.
Wanting: to be best friends forever with Caplin Rous, The Hundred-Pound Capybara
I think this is my favorite Michael Jackson video. I love it when dogs wear suits and ride roller coasters and read newspapers.
+ Laura Jane
Listening: My iPod shuffle is an instrument through which the Universe reveals itself
Watching: I'm in New York! Casually observing differences b/w New York and Toronto. So interesting!
Reading: The Beatles Recording Sessions: The Official Abbey Road Studio Session Notes (PS: I just typoed "studio" as "stupid" like eight times)
Wearing: A Scorpio/teddy bear-themed t-shirt minidress; "Rockefeller for President" button; candy-striped platform wedges; coming round to my glasses FINALLY
Wanting: A bagel

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Sleigh Bells, the new Ratatat, that collabo between Ellen Allien and Apparat, trying to figure out if I like Chain and the Gang. Why does Ian Svenonius make me feel a little icky these days?
Watching: I am now embarking on the second season of "Mad Men," which I am enjoying highly. I love a show that's all about subtext! Also, I rewatched A Room With a View, and I'd forgotten how much that is such a good, funny, British costume drama. And Daniel Day Lewis is such a great actor--I'm so used to seeing him be all dramatic and intense, but he played a prig and snob so completely that you're like, "That's the same dude?!" Also: that bathing in the pond scene!!!!!
Reading: I finished the Miranda July book, which I liked a lot, more than the first time I read it. The first time I read it, I enjoyed it, but this time I really appreciated it. I think it's 'cause I read it during film school; nothing I took in then really absorbed well into my system. It was all that sleep deprivation! Also: Miranda July is pretty much the only human being whose career I envy.
Wearing: A miniskirt, a t-shirt, some sandals. Summer clothes, meh.
Wanting: I wish werewolves were real, so I can interview them and ask if they crave hamburgers more often since becoming wolf-y.
Now that's I've finished at least one full season of "Mad Men," I can more fully appreciate this:
+ Liz
Listening: that song by Cheech & Chong and George Harrison, "It's All Over Now" by the Rolling Stones
Watching: the first four episodes of The Beatles Anthology
Reading: Life Would Be Perfect If I Lived In That House by Meghan Daum (still!)
Wearing: I want to be wearing cheapo seersucker gingham shorts. I think.
Wanting: a billion bottles of FOGHAT WINE (thanks, Jeff from Popdose!)
(L: Foghat wine. R: a Foghat shirt that I want more than Foghat wine.)

+ Laura Jane
Listening: "Louie Louie"
Watching: Carefree with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, AKA my new favourite movie of all-time
Reading: Obviously calling this "reading" is a bit of a stretch, but DANCING ALONE TO PONY is the greatest thing that's ever happened to the Internet since the inception of the Internet itself
Wearing: Yesterday I wore a high-waisted pencil skirt to work and I felt both constricted and "not slutty enough"
Wanting: GINGER ROGERS' SWEATER:
Tags: Cheech & Chong, Dancing Alone To Pony, Foghat, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, pencil skirts, seersucker

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: I made this "Sunny Summer" mix for driving that has stuff like Debbie Deb and Ladyhawke and Gwen Stefani and Expose on it, and then I made one called "Dark Summer" on it that has stuff like Moderat and and HEALTH and Scientist and Belief-era Nitzer Ebb on it. The guiding principle behind "Sunny Summer" was "boppiness," and everything on "Dark Summer" was "abrasive but danceable." I wish I could put it on a 90-minute cassette tape and send them to everyone. I miss TAPES.
Watching: All the footage I'm shooting with my new HD camcorder, one of those little ones. Mine is shaped like a Blackberry, which is exciting because I loooooovvvveee my Blackberry. I'm in a serious "ooooh, shoot everything all the time!" phase, mostly to play around and figure out my new tool's strengths and weaknesses. Also I finally finished season 1 of "Mad Men."
Reading: Twyla Tharp's autobiography, Push Comes to Shove, and the Miranda July book of short stories, some of which I like a lot.
Wearing: A Mika Machido top that I got at Ekovaruhuset, Uniqlo jeans that have sadly stretched out too much.
Wanting: $$$$$!!!! Universe, keep bringing work my way, I love it! Also: I redesigned my personal website and I AM SO HAPPY WITH IT. I'm still refining the details and redoing the content, but it feels exactly how I want it to feel: clear and feminine and a little elegant. I just wanted to share! It's great to feel happy about things you do and to share that!
I'm in love with the macro mode:
+ Liz
Listening: "Cactus" by David Bowie and "Badge" by Cream
Watching: Basically all I watch is The Hills. Oh and TakeYourFaceOff.tumblr.com.
Reading: the "How To Be A Man" issue of Esquire. I feel manlier already! And that bonkers New York profile of Paz De La Huerta. Imagine if your ex wrote a profile on you for New York? That would be weird. But I liked this part: "'When Paz says something, you can taste it in your mouth,' says director Nemo Librizzi, a longtime friend. 'When I'm hungry, I just ask her to say strawberry shortcake.'"
Wearing: Soon I'll be wearing my pretty little orange slip dress from Electric Bluebird, plus cowboy boots.
Wanting: Strawberry shortcake. And from now on I want to start telling every superlatively hot dude I come in contact with that he's "lookin' better than a body has a right to." I'll probably forget, though.
(L: strawberry shortcake. R: David Bowie)

+ Laura Jane
Listening: Van Dyke Parks; The Velvet Underground, White Light/White Heat; "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"; "Sexy Sadie"
Watching: The Mighty Boosh- PS just so everybody knows I'm totally going to meet my boyfriend Noel Fielding when he comes to Toronto on July 8th, so that's EXCITING!!!!!!!
Reading: The British Vogue with Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover, which is so enlightening, you know, and I'm just so impressed, by how much Gwyneth LOVES "food, wine, and sex." Food, wine, and sex??!?!?!?!????!!!? I've never met a human being with those interests before. Anybody who ever calls this woman "trad" is full of beans.
Wearing: Black jeans with zippers at the ankles; this blacky smocky sort of shirt thing with lamb's ear sleeves; red-and-white polka-dot babydoll dress; black tank dress; seashell necklace; Paul McCartney t-shirt; shrunken grey cardigan meant for a six year old
Wanting: I just woke up from a dream wherein ODB was my best friend, and also flamboyantly gay, and dying, and a drug dealer, and we went to Las Vegas. There was an "alcoholic Starbucks" (to quote Gay ODB) in the casino we stayed at, and- I kid you not- I drank a Venti half-sweet Passion Tea Lemonade Margarita. Such are the maniacal imaginings of my brain unhinged. The dream ended with this very scary escapade in which I had to carry Gay Dying ODB down fifteen billion flights of stairs to save his life, and he was covered in a pink fuzzy blanket, and at one point I had to climb out a window and was very high up from the ground, to check to see if the police were watching. Plus, there were all these gates I had to climb over, but I succeeded. I suppose what I mean to say is that I aspire to such levels of decadence in all arenas of my life. I will no longer allow my awakeness to hold me back.
OH MY CUTE WEIRD WACKY BOYFRIEND! LOOK HOW CUTE AND WEIRD AND WACKY HE IS!

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Monorchid, Madonna, Motorhead
Watching: Breathless; SATC 2 (which I have a lot to say about, but not a lot of time to write it); Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (dude, I had no idea Anna Faris was one of the voice actors); Ponyo; episodes of "The Tudors"
Reading: The House of Mirth and Howards End...I'm such a former English major! But those are some of my favorite books ever.
Wearing: Just jeans and a plain t-shirt with Converse. Summer fashion confuses me and makes me give up.
Wanting: LOVE AND MONEY AND MONEY AND LOVE and for the lunar eclipse not to rock me too hard on June 26. Please, universe, let my cards fall RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
Watch this Monorchid clip from a Gravity Records comp video:
+ Liz
Listening: "Long Tall Sally" by the Beatles 8 million times in a row. Right now "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith is on the radio; that's good. Yesterday I listened to all of Heartbeeps by the Mae Shi, twice. Now the radio's playing "Stepping Out" by Joe Jackson. The Strokes!
Watching: Last Sunday morning in a hotel room in San Ramon I watched most of The True Story of Bret Michaels or whatever that E! show is called. I learned that Bret Michaels looked really good with facial hair, at some point in the 90s.
Reading: Life Would Be Perfect If I Lived In That House by Meghan Daum. Re-reading the Franny part of Franny & Zooey for the zillionth time. TakeYourFaceOff.tumblr.com.
Wearing: The other day at Enterprise Rent-a-Car I was wearing cutoffs and cowboy boots and this flowy sleeveless silk top with hippie pattern and my asymmetrical felted cloche and this dude asked told me he works at AIG but he's making an album and he's doing a photoshoot in India and he'd like me to participate because I'm quite fashionable. SO THAT WAS FUNNY.
Wanting: a lifetime supply of Wonka Kazoozles, and for there to be a YouTube clip of the part in Let It Be where Heather McCartney hits the drums and Ringo startles and it's so adorable.
0:10 to 0:46 of this video perfectly encapsulates nearly everything I love about the Red Hot Chili Peppers, in a mellow kind of way. Just some dudes, talking about shoes; that's all. I could stare into Anthony's teeth all day...

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Karen Elson, The Ghost Who Walks, which I like quite a lot, actually -- it's a very sincere record; the new download from How to Destroy Angels; and Spoon's Kill the Moonlight, which is like their version of a Fall record and that's why I dig it so much.
Watching: Breathless; Up; episodes of "Fringe," which I am digging because it's PACEY! And also Anna Torv is awesome; and Monsters Inc., which I think is one of my favorite movies ever. CUTE ATTACK!!! Also, this hilarz video my friend sent me, it's these dudes from 80s dating vids and oh my god, it's a miracle people procreate sometimes!
Reading: I re-read The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton and I'm currently re-reading The House of Mirth as well before I give both copies away. Then I have to read Howards End again before I give that away. Moving is so stressful!!!!
Wearing: Dude, cropped sweatpants, Alternative Apparel t-shirt, Uniqlo hoodie -- I am totes slobbed out.
Wanting: I WANT TO BE DONE WITH MOVING SOON. PLEASE.
Watch this and be amazed. Seriously:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Marianne Faithfull, Broken English; Lil Wayne, Tha Carter III; The Beatles, "Dear Prudence"
Watching: Last night's full moon, and some other moons
Reading: The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers for the eighty billionth time
Wearing: Last night, after getting home from work, I realized I was accidentally wearing green American Apparel running shorts, a zebra-striped blouse-y thing, and then a red plaid flannel over the zebra stripes, and it looked SO COOL. I also have quite a killer tan
Wanting: SUMMER FOREVER

Snapshot: Listening, Watching, Reading, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Aphex Twin, Ellen Allien, just a bunch of electronic stuff because everything else is just not working for me right at this moment.
Watching: One of my favorite dudes in the world posted the latest video from Trent Reznor's newest musical offering, How to Destroy Angels, on my Facebook page, and it's seriously freaking my sister out. I think it's the blood and syringes and the singing corpse that is lit on fire.
Reading: Right now my attention span and ability to concentrate have been colonized by tons of freelance work, and it doesn't leave me much to work with. And all my books are put away or sold or going to be so. But I'm making do with the Blake Lively issue of Vogue magazine. I'm slightly intrigued why she didn't get the usual glossy-starlet profile. Is she super-boring or something?
Wearing: A cap and gown for MY GRADUATION! Most useless outfit ever!
Wanting: HEY GUYS, I'M SELLING MY BACK ISSUES OF LULA!!! I was just going to Ebay them but I thought I'd offer them up here first. I have issues 1-8 to unload. These are pretty rare and maniacs offer them up for hundreds of dollars on Ebay (especially the early ones) but I would sell them to nogoodforme lovelies at cost ($15) + mailing + the processing fee my shopping cart service charges (NOT PAYPAL BUT YOU DO GET TO PAY WITH CREDIT CARD). They're all in pretty decent shape and intact (no ripping out pages or cutouts.) If you're interested, email me at kat (at) nogoodforme.com and let me know which issues you'd be into buying or any questions you have. Thank you very muchly!
UPDATE: All the Lulas are gone now and have found lovely new homes with some very lovely readers! Thank you, everyone, for the interest! Who knew the first Lula is such a collector's item?

+ Liz
Listening: Nirvana, The Doors, Van Halen
Watching: I forgot to tell you last week that I saw Iron Man 2 and believed Mickey Rourke to be totally hot
Reading: OUR STYLE ICONS SERIES!!!!
Wearing: a dress
Wanting: a nap
+ Laura Jane
Listening: I listen to a lot of rap music because I like the way it makes me feel about myself
Watching: That show where my boyfriend is LOST on an island and he's a doctor and I relate to him so much and he's beautiful
Reading: All the intensely kind things people said about me to win a hundred bones worth of MJ
Wearing: This sparkly turquoise GapKids sundress with red lipstick, a red cardigan, and red ballet flats. Turquoise and red is such an ebullient color-combo!
Wanting: I'd like to go on a holiday to Morocco before the year is through, so that I can have a Morocco part be in my book. Hey Dr Jack Shephard, if you're reading this PLEASE take me to Morocco this year okay my sweet baby boy????!?!?!
I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: Clinic, Screaming Trees, Inspiral Carpets, and the great radio station that Liz tipped me off to. Right now it's playing MC Hammer.
Watching: Iron Man 2; "V"; "Battlestar Galactica."
Reading: I finished Marie Antoinette: The Journey and now I have nothing left to read because all my books are either sent off or given away or sold!
Wearing: Lately my fashion concept is basically dressing like a 9-year old boy 'cause I keep wearing this Rebel Yell hoodie sweatshirt with Uniqlo jeans and Converse and my nephew's like, "Can I have that clothes? Can you give that shirt to me?" I said, "It's a HOODIE, kiddo, and NO! NO!" And he makes a sad face and I feel bad, but I'm sorry, it's a great hoodie.
Wanting: Okay, the universe seems to have listened to my call for more $$$, and I am really amped for that. So: more $$$$$$$$$$$$!!!! Also: about four more hours in the day. And for my family not to drive me crazy because they're in this weekend and I AM GRADUATING ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!

+ Liz
Listening: "Stray Cat Blues" by the Rolling Stones + "Sweet Little Sixteen" by the Beatles on shuffle/repeat
Watching: I watched about half of Jesus' Son the other night - GOD IT'S SO GOOD! My heart grows fonder with each viewing. The part with the dude with the knife stuck in his eye is like my favorite movie scene ever sort of.
Reading: Oh I mostly just pick books up off the floor and then I read a few sentences and then throw them across the room when I'm done. Those books include: Evening by Susan Minot, Drugs Are Nice by Lisa Crystal Carver, Shaking a Leg by Angela Carter, Anagrams by Lorrie Moore, others. Also: that big New York article on Uniqlo. I've never been to Uniqlo!
Wearing: the other night I wore my new slip dress, it's so pretty. Electric Bluebird is my new favorite Etsy store.
Wanting: I want to know everything there is to know about Billy Crudup. WHO ARE YOU, BILLY CRUDUP?????
The "Billy Crudup meltdown" scene in Jesus' Son, which Kat already posted in her Top Six Off-the-Radar Fashionable Films post:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Graham Nash, Wild Tales; Faust IV & So Far (by Faust); the part of "Baby" by Justin Bieber when Luda goes, "When I was thirteen/ I met my first love"
Watching: America's Next Top Model
Reading: I remember reading something this week and thinking "Good job on reading, Laura Jane! You can Snapshot this!" but now I can't remember, so I guess it wasn't memorable
Wearing: Pigtails; a pink hoody with Beatles skull faces on it; some pants I bought at an incense store
Wanting: FOR MY LIFE TO FEEL MORE LIKE THIS:

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: How to Destroy Angels, which made me dig up the Coil EP of the same name and then I was like "Shit, I'd forgotten how Coil were such a fucking awesome band!"; Gwen Stefani; the Sundays; Moonshake, Eva Luna
Watching: "V" and "My So-Called Life" and Stage Door (one of my favorite old Hollywood melodramas!) and tonight I'm going to see the final night of my school's film festival.
Reading: I'm re-reading a lot of my old books before I sell them or give them away on paperbackswap.com. Latest: Marie Antoinette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser, and a collection of Martin McDonagh plays.
Wearing: I am so bummed that Lyell is going out of business, so I wore a Lyell blouse with shorts in solidarity this week.
Wanting: I still want more MONEY!!!!
Coil's version of "Tainted Love" will Goth your face off:
+ Liz
Listening: Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen, songs from the Flashdance soundtrack
Watching: The baby version of The Hills and the "little kids lip-sync Jerry Seinfeld vid" inspired me to rewatch "Charlie Bit My Finger" (which, awesomely, I just typo-ed as "Charliebro Bit My Finger"- god, I wish!!!!!!!)
Reading: bits and pieces of The Beatles by Bob Spitz
Wearing: my new "writing uniform," which is grey cutoff shorts and a Midori Melon Liqueur t-shirt I found on the ground.
Wanting: If you have any photos of Tony Alva being hot and teenaged, please email them to liz at nogoodforme dot com. Thanks!
Speaking of Charliebro, here's Charliebro! He's the one who's not a terrifying creepazoid who I'm scared might end up murdering people someday:
+ Laura Jane
Listening: Buddy Holly; the Joe Meek song about Buddy Holly
Watching: I should probably watch The Buddy Holly Story, shouldn't I?
Reading: Another option would be "reading a book about Buddy Holly"
Wearing: Nothing Buddy Holly-related. My favourite outfit this week was aviator sunglasses, a swingy white skirt, Vans slip-ons with a picture of a skull wearing an Indian chief's headdress on the toe, and my Paul McCartney t-shirt. A NOTE TO ALL WOMEN EVERYWHERE: If you want gross dudes not to hit on you on the street, just wear a Paul McCartney t-shirt! It's totally douchebag repellent.
Wanting: I'd like to use the word "cataplexic" in writing and not have it be a stretch
HERE IS WHAT BUDDY HOLLY WAS LIKE IN REAL LIFE WEIRD HUH
Tags: Buddy Holly, Charliebro, Coil, douchebag repellent, Flashdance, gothiness, Midori Melon Liqueur t-shirts, Paul McCartney, twenty dollar words

Snapshot: Listening, Reading, Watching, Wearing, Wanting
+ Kat
Listening: I'm in the process of ripping all my CDs to a hard drive, so I'm kind of listening to EVERYTHING. Right at this moment: Afghan Whigs, Gentlemen.
Watching: I keep making my way through "V" even though it's nowhere near as awesome as the 80s miniseries; "30 Rock"; and I think I'm going to see Please Give this weekend. Oh, and films from the Columbia University Film Festival.
Reading: I am also in the process of selling off and giving away books on paperbackswap.com, so I'm speed-reading through things fast before I get rid of them. Right now I'm almost done with The History of Love by Nicole Krauss and I like it a lot but I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping. No, I have to stop thinking like this, I need to get rid of EVERYTHING!!!!
Wearing: A black-and-white striped shirt with 3/4 length sleeves, black shorts, black ballet flats, the world's messiest long hair. My grooming sucks.
Wanting: I'm kind of in this weird head space where I know I'm graduating and moving within the next month, so part of me is like, "GAH I HATE CHANGE I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE WAAAAH." The other part of me is SO SICK of school and my apartment and fantasizes about getting on a bus, moving to some random town under an assumed name and just dropping out of my named existence altogether to become a character in a 1970s pop song. I'm very aware of my Cancerian loopiness at the moment. So I really just want my mommy.
I actually have never seen an Afghan Whigs video, so I looked up this one for "Gentlemen" and let me tell you, I am very amused by Greg Dulli's hair.
+ Liz
Listening: Not the new Hole record, that's for sure! So Pearl Jam, to irritate 1995 Courtney Love.
Watching: the brilliant and delightful "Secretary's Day" episode of The Office
Reading: "Rachel Uchitel Is Not a Madam" from New York magazine
Wearing: my Liberty of London for Target chemise cuz I'm sleepy-byes
Wanting: Well I really wanted those Cynthia Vincent for Target flats but apparently THAT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN
So the other night at La Cita a song came on and my friend Rob was like "Is this 'For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)'?" and I was all "No, it's not. It's not 'For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).' There is no song that has ever been 'For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)' any less than this song playing right now." But guess what? It was totally "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)." So as punishment I was made to put on a dunce cap, and then later post a photo of myself wearing said dunce cap, on nogoodforme.com. At right: the Beastie Boys photo I promised LJ I'd post the other day.

Tags: Afghan Whigs, Cancerians, Courtney Love, dunce caps, Greg Dulli's hair, saluting those about to rock, the Beastie Boys
